10 of our favorite Ford V-8s
9. Modular V-8 (1991–Present)

When Ford replaced the old 5.0 in the early ’90s, fans weren’t thrilled. But they came around.
The Modular family brought better flow, DOHC designs, and eventually wild power. The 5.0L Coyote and the 5.2L Voodoo (hello, 8250 RPM redline) showed the world that overhead cams can still sound mean. And then came the 760-hp Predator in the GT500.
Why it matters: Ford proved modern V-8s could still shred tires.
