14 Bourbons That Aren't Worth Your Money

George Dickel Tabasco Barrel Finish

George Dickel Tabasco Barrel Finish made waves at its release, thanks to a rare collaboration between a whiskey maker and a hot sauce brand. However, many overlooked the fact that it isn’t actually classified as a bourbon. Depending on who you ask, it might not even qualify as Tennessee whiskey, since it includes added ingredients like Tabasco pepper sauce essence. No matter the label, most agree this whiskey is quite unpleasant.

As expected, the flavor and aroma are dominated by intense hot sauce spice, with none of the typical whiskey notes like oak, smoke, or baking spices. Critics say all they detect beyond the hot sauce are hints of cough syrup and vomit.

The only useful purpose for this product seems to be as a Bloody Mary mixer. But at around $27, there are far cheaper and better ways to spice up a Bloody Mary, like a pinch of Old Bay seasoning.
