Despite the issues with knockoffs and recycled cells flooding the 14500 Li-ion market, several reputable brands still make solid options. Interestingly, older NiMH batteries often outperform Li-ion in practical use—but good Li-ion models are still worth noting.

Trusted names in the rechargeable Li-ion space include Samsung, Panasonic/Sanyo (also known for their 1.2v Li-ion cells), LG, Sony, Keeppower, Shockli, LiitoKala, AWT, Tensai, Windyfire, and Efan.

That said, this part of the list is just edging past the average performers. If you see a brand lower down that you don’t recognize, don’t be surprised—many lesser-known companies are quietly producing decent batteries in smaller quantities. v
