A well-known European tire testing organization completed a comprehensive comparison of 225/45 R17 summer tires at the Goodyear test site in Montpellier, France. This classic size is popular in the British market and is suitable for a variety of models from sports hatchbacks to luxury sedans. However, the performance of the same size varies significantly - the test results in 2025 are particularly surprising.

Eight mainstream brand tires participated in the evaluation, and the test items covered dry/wet handling, braking performance, comfort, fuel economy and quiet performance. The test site simulated a variety of road conditions, including slippery roads, deep water sections and dry tracks. The final results showed that the gap between the top three was narrow, and some traditional strong brands failed to make the top of the list due to obvious shortcomings.
