4. Michelin Pilot Sport 5: Strong but Not Spectacular

Michelin’s Pilot Sport 5 delivered solid results, particularly in deep-water aquaplaning, where it outperformed rivals. It also ranked well in dry handling, offering confidence-inspiring grip and precision. However, its wet braking was a metre behind the best, and abrupt grip loss in corners was a concern.

Refinement was decent, with low noise levels and good bump absorption, but its mid-pack fuel economy left room for improvement. While competent, it didn’t quite live up to its predecessor’s legacy.
