Grow Like a Pro: 7 Top Tools Every Plumber Should Own
4.Best Plastic Pipe Cutter

The ideal plastic pipe cutter really depends on the pipe size you're working with, as plastic plumbing comes in a variety of diameters. In my work, I regularly handle plastic pipes ranging from 10mm all the way up to 40mm.
John Guest Speedfit Pipe Cutter
For smaller pipes — anything up to 22mm — the JG Speedfit pipe cutter is hands down the best I’ve used. It’s simple, fast, and does a clean job every time. If only cutting larger plastic pipes was this easy, life would be much better!
Rothenberger Plasticut & Ox PolyZip
When it comes to cutting larger waste pipes, particularly 32mm and 40mm, the Rothenberger Plasticut (or the Ox PolyZip) is what I reach for. These two tools are essentially identical, and both get the job done cleanly and efficiently.
Knipex Bix
I’ve also got the Knipex Bix, which covers pipe sizes from 20mm up to 50mm. It’s a clever design, compact and ergonomic, but in my experience, it doesn’t cut quite as smoothly as the Plasticut. It tends to sit in the toolbox more often than not. Rothenberger Rocut 42TC The Rothenberger Rocut 42TC sounds ideal on paper, cutting anything from 0 to 42mm. And yes, it works well — it gives you a clean cut. But it’s not the most efficient tool if you’re cutting pipes frequently. The ratcheting action can be time-consuming, as you need multiple presses and then have to reset it every time. Great for occasional use, but not my go-to when I’m on a busy job.
