The 11 Worst Dog Food Brands in America
8.Ol' Roy

Owner/parent: Walmart
Founded: 1983
Questionable ingredients: Corn, corn gluten meal, soybean meal, wheat middlings, unidentified meat byproducts, artificial color
Named after Walmart founder Sam Walton's dog, Ol' Roy is the retailer's private-label dog food brand. While it ranks among the best-selling dog foods in the U.S., it's also one of the least expensive options available. However, this affordability comes with a significant downside. Ol' Roy contains low-quality ingredients, including corn and other fillers that many experts deem unsuitable for dogs. The brand has been associated with several health problems in pets, including kidney and liver damage. Like Kibbles 'n Bits, Ol' Roy was also part of the 2018 recall for pentobarbital contamination.
