Every Generation of General Motors LS Engine Ranked Worst to Best
3. LS6 – “Track-Ready (If You Can Find One)”

Built for the C5 Z06, this thing was a beast in its day — 385 hp stock, 405 later on. Better heads, better compression, D-shaped exhaust ports — it had all the goodies. And it could take a turbo like a champ.
Problem? You’ll need a treasure map to find one. The LS6 only came in the C5 Z06 and early CTS-Vs. If you're on a budget, grab an LS1. If you're power-hungry, step up to an LS3. This one’s mostly for collectors and nostalgia nerds.
