Every Generation of General Motors LS Engine Ranked Worst to Best
7. LSA – “Almost an LS9… But Not Quite”

LSA is the "diet" version of the LS9. Still supercharged, still 6.2L, still makes a wild 556–580 hp — but it cuts corners on the internals. No titanium rods, no forged pistons. Not great for chasing 1,000 hp, but perfect for a fast, streetable build.
This thing powered the CTS-V and Camaro ZL1 from the early 2010s, and honestly? It holds up. Great balance of power, price, and plug-and-play ease. You want a reliable supercharged LS? This is it.
