Even the most frequent travelers should think twice about this one.
Weighing just 5.6kg, the Karion stroller is definitely light -- but unfortunately, it's also light on safety.
The first major issue we found is that the shoulder straps can create a strangulation risk when adjusted to the shortest setting.
To their credit, Karion did take action after we raised this concern in 2023. They added a stopper to the shoulder strap and fixed some labeling issues, as well as a minor concern where the seat could be pulled away from the frame. Thanks to these updates, the Karion now meets the mandatory safety standards. However, it still failed the additional, voluntary safety tests we carry out, which are more stringent.
Despite the improvements, we found that the stopper on the shoulder straps isn't thick enough, and the adjuster can still slip through it, creating a loop that could be a strangulation hazard.
Another safety concern: during our stability test, the stroller tipped backward when fully reclined, which could result in a fall and potentially injure your child. This is definitely a serious issue.
